AHRC Awards Competition, 2013

The Classics Faculty welcomes applications for its studentships provided through the AHRC Block Grant Partnership: we anticipate that one MPhil studentship and five or six PhD studentships will be awarded in 2013.  Applications must be submitted by 11 January 2013

Awards are restricted to students meeting home/EU residency criteria. Please note also that students who have obtained or expect to obtain a 'Masters-level' qualification, are not eligible for an AHRC Masters award, and that Students who have obtained a doctoral qualification are not eligible for AHRC support. Please check here for guidance.

Applications are made, electronically, through the University’s on-line GRADSAF application form and must be submitted by the deadline together with all supporting documents. It is very important that you tick the AHRC funding box in Section B of the application form.  Full details on how to apply can be found here.

All applicants must provide a 500 word ‘research proposal’ (this is called a ‘statement of purpose’ for MPhil applicants). Please follow the 'Student Research Proposal/Statement of Purpose guidelines when writing your proposal.

Current PhD Students Only

Current PhD students applying for AHRC funding should complete the AHRC application form and submit it to the Graduate Administrator at the Classics Faculty by email (graduate.secretary@classics.cam.ac.uk) to arrive by 11 January 2013. You will also need to provide two references which should be sent in hard copy by your referees to the Graduate Administrator, Faculty of Classics, Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge CB3 9DA.  You should read the PhD Research Proposal guide (see 'Student Research Proposal/Statement of Purpose') before completing the application form, as you may need to consult your supervisor for advice about the content.

Further information on the competition will be posted here as and when it becomes available.
