The Faculty wants to encourage you to get acquainted with some of these texts before you come up to begin your studies.
Here for you to work your way through is a text of the 'Pro Lege Manilia', with all sorts of helpful annotations.
You will also receive general and individual advice from your Director of Studies in Classics, with suggestions for reading. He or she will have your own circumstances in mind (how much Latin and Greek you have already done, whether you are doing a gap year, still preparing for A Levels, etc.) and the programme of work your College has planned for the first term. You can find out who your Director of Studies in Classics is at your prospective College either from the Faculty website or by contacting the College tutorial office.
