Heffers Classics Festival (Festival of Ideas event no.193)

The Museum will be open all day for this year's Classics Festival - and we'll also be taking some objects over to the festival itself for you to get your hands on.
This year, Heffer's Classics Festival will feature the best of academic classicists and authors of classical fiction in two separate strands - Classical Fact Festival and Classical Fiction Festival. Speakers include classicists Mary Beard, Paul Cartledge and Peter Heather. Leading authors Lindsay Davis, Simon Scarrow and Caroline Lawrence will also speak.

Ticket prices: £35, concessions: £25.
Individual sessions: £7, concessions: £5.

Celebrating Cambridge Classics

Tim Whitmarsh, A. G. Leventis Professor of Greek Culture, will deliver his Inaugural Lecture, “Oedipus the Atheist”, on Friday 14 October at 5pm in the Little Hall, Sidgwick Site. This begins a weekend of Classics celebrations including the Greek Play and a Symposium on Greek Drama at Newnham College.
