A former pupil of Sir Denys Page, he is the world's leading expert on the text of Euripides; he is editor of the three-volume Oxford Classical Text. He has also worked on the text of many other Greek and Latin authors, e.g. Ovid and Corippus, has edited The Classical Papers of A. E. Housman. His latest work is an edition of the Characters of Theophrastus. He is our resident expert on Greek and Latin metre.
