Borrowing from the Classics Faculty Library

The table summarises borrowing rights at the Classical Faculty Library for members of Cambridge University, and official visitors to the Faculty. Members of the public cannot borrow books but are welcome to use the Library for reference purposes.

Members of the University and visitors must register before they can borrow. In most cases, the University Card is used for borrowing. Registration takes place on weekdays only between 9am and 5pm.

 * Postgraduates from other departments must bring proof of status, i.e. letter from the Board of Studies or similar official document. Please note that the University Card is not proof of status.

** Short Loan books can be borrowed for 2 hours (renewable) for use in the Library only. If borrowed in the last half hour of opening time they can be borrowed overnight and are due by 10.30 a.m on the next working day. Please note that the fine on overdue Short Loans is £0.50 per book, per hour overdue. Short Loan books cannot be borrowed for Vacation.
