Library Computing Facilities

 
The Library computer room has:

  • 2 Apple Macs
  • 10 PCs
  • 2 Printers: black & white printing only, single or double-sided.
  • Printing is free: users can bring their own paper, or buy paper from the Issue Desk.
  • 1 Scanner

Readers are welcome to use laptops on the Sidgwick Avenue side of the Library. There is a wireless Lapwing facility, and users need their Raven password to log in.

Photocopying

 

The Library has a black & white self-service photocopier for student use, located next to the fire exit. Photocopying cards cost £1 each and can be purchased from the card dispenser located next to the photocopier. Each card is sold with 50 pence of credit, and can be recharged with further credit at the card dispenser  as required.

 

Photocopying with a card costs:

  • 6p per A4 sheet
  • 12p per A3 sheet

The photocopier also accepts cash. Cash copying costs 10p per A4 sheet and 20p per A3 sheet. 

When you are photocopying, please remember to observe the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988. These legal guidelines are displayed by the machine. 

Microfiche Reader

 

 There is a microfiche reader in room G.17 at the end of the Library. Arrangements can be made to use the microfilm reader in the Library of the Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies.
