**Please note: Loan boxes are not currently available. We will begin taking bookings again in January 2017. We apologise for the inconvenience.**
Loan Boxes from our Museum are a brilliant way to bring the Greeks and Romans back to the classroom: they are packed with both replica and original objects which make great primary teaching resources back at school.
We offer separate Greeks and Romans Loan Boxes to support the Key Stage 2 History curriculum. Our Museum Loan Boxes make especially useful classroom tools for learning about daily life in ancient Greece and Rome – children can get their hands on things which people who lived over 2000 years ago really held and used. And don't worry, we also include information and guidance for teachers to help you get the most out of our resources.
Our Loan Boxes
ROMANS LOAN BOX – contains wax writing tablets, oil lamps, a strigil, jewellery and more.
GREEKS LOAN BOX – contains athletic equipment (a discus, long-jump weights) for thinking about the Olympic Games, as well as coins, oil lamps and more.
How to Borrow a Loan Box
Schools may borrow the Loan Boxes for up to a month - you will need to be able to come to the Museum to pick the box up and to return it when you are finished.
To make arrangements to borrow one of the Loan Boxes, contact our Education and Outreach Coordinator:

Why not combine use of a Loan Box with a school trip to the Museum?
