Rupert Thompson on 'Cracking the Linear B Code'

Sixty years ago Michael Ventris and John Chadwick published the evidence that they had deciphered Linear B. How did they do it, and why was it such an important breakthrough?

This lecture is part of the University of Cambridge Alumni Festival 2013. It will be followed by a reception in the Cast Gallery of the Museum of Classical Archaeology (4:30-5:30pm).
