Artemis, Leto, Apollo and the winged Nike are shown by an altar performing a ritual, with a temple in the background. A choregos in ancient Greece was a citizen who had the honour of paying for dramatic productions in homage to the gods at the theatre. Prizes were awarded to the choregoi deemed the best. Nike represents victory, Apollo was the musician god, and Leto was his and Artemis’s mother.
