Dr Gabriele Rota

Language Teaching Officer


Gabriele is a language teacher in the Faculty of Classics and works on the textual history of the Latin classics from Antiquity to Renaissance. In 2018 he completed a PhD on the manuscripts of Cicero’s letters. Gabriele’s other research interests include interpolation in Greek and Latin literature, the notion of ‘literary persona’ in ancient and modern texts, and Lachmannian stemmatics. Gabriele is happy to supervise undergraduate theses in Latin literature (oratory and satire) and Greek and Latin textual criticism/Latin palaeography.
