We've been here once already. Long before current talk of "alternative facts", Protagoras was declaring that man is the measure of all things, and that what is true for you need not be true for me. Plato countered that this declaration trips itself up: people don't believe it, and so even by its own standards, it cannot be true. Nicholas Denyer will discuss these and some related debates. For example, if a Cretan tells you that Cretans are always liars, do you believe him?

Saturday Opening

We are currently closed on Saturdays. Saturday opening will resume on Saturday 19 January 2019. Unfortunately, we are only open on Saturdays during University of Cambridge term time.

 

PLANNED CLOSURE: MONDAY 10 DECEMBER, opening at 13.00

We regret that the Museum of Classical Archaeology and the Faculty of Classics will be closed on the morning of Monday 10 December 2018 for essential maintenance work. The Museum will open for the afternoon at 1pm and will close at 5pm, as normal. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

 

Christmas Closure

We will close on Friday 21 December 2018 at 5pm and will reopen on Monday 7 January at 10am.
