The Museum of Classical Archaeology is one of nine University of Cambridge museums and collections. Why not leave the hustle and bustle of the city centre behind to discover a whole new way of seeing ancient art? Our cast gallery houses over 450 plaster casts of Greek and Roman sculpture, each of which has its own story to tell.

Your Safe Visit
Book a timed ticket in advance
All visitors must book a ticket online in advance. We are using ticketing to keep our visitor numbers low and help you to stay safe. We'll ask you to show us your ticket when you arrive.
Follow the one way system
One-way routes are in place throughout the building and our Cast Gallery. You will enter as usual through the main entrance to the Faculty of Classics and come upstairs to the Museum - but you will follow floor stickers around our Gallery and leave through our back entrance.
Stay 2m apart
Please observe social distancing as you move around our building and Cast Gallery - especially in the Bays, where space can be more limited between the casts.
Extra safety measures
All visitors are required to wear face coverings in our Gallery, except for those who are exempt. Our staff will be wearing face coverings, especially while moving around the Gallery.
You will find hand sanitiser in the foyer as you enter our building, and also at the exit as you leave. We are cleaning touch points in our Gallery every day to keep you safe.
Facilities
- Toilets are available in the foyer as you arrive and also on the exit route as you leave, whether you leave by the stairs or the lift. Only one person may enter the toilets at any one time.
- Unfortunately, we are not handling money at this time and are unable to take card payments - so we cannot sell postcards, posters or books.
- Our bag racks are available and cleaned daily, but we suggest that you bring on small bags which you can carry.
- If you would like to sketch, please let us know when you arrive and we will provide you with a chair. Chairs in the Gallery are otherwise reserved for teaching.
Help us Keep You Safe
When you visit, please arrive no more than five minutes before your timed slot. If you are visiting as a small group, please meet outside the building and enter together.
Please be understanding of others. All visitors are required to wear a face covering while in our Cast Gallery, unless they are exempt. However, please remember that not all exemptions are visible.
Most importantly, if you are feeling unwell, please stay home.
For more information on the changes we've made to keep everyone safe, please consult our Covid Reopening FAQs.
We're Good to Go
The Museum of Classical Archaeology has been awarded the Visit Britain We're Good to Go Industry Standard mark. This means we have followed government and industry COVID-19 guidelines, have a Risk Assessment in place and have a process to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.
