Library Services on offer :

Study Space and Borrowing:

People are welcome to sit anywhere they like; there are no reservations. Although please try to spread out around the library as much as possible rather than crowding on one desk unless you are in a group.  This is especially the case in winter when flu and covid are more prevalent.

If you require material from closed stacks (indicated on iDiscover) please request before 4.00 Monday to Friday. Material cannot be fetched at weekends.

If you cannot visit the library to borrow, please email library@classics.cam.ac.uk with details of the books you require and the person who will be collecting them for you and we will arrange for the items to be issued to you.

Any problems please contact library@classics.cam.ac.uk.

Returns:

Books may be returned to the library and discharged via the self-issue/return machine. Books may also be returned via the Sidgwick Book return boxes by Lady Mitchell Hall and near the English Faculty. Please note that there may be a delay in books returned via the sidgboxes being removed from your borrowing record.

Scan and Deliver:

Current staff and students requiring one chapter or article from a book/journal may request a scan to be emailed to them. Details available on the UL website, and please fill in the form for books held at Classics too.
