To coincide with Cambridge Visual Culture's lecture from Dominic Blake, life model and art writer, we are hosting two life drawing sessions in partnership with Cambridge-based artists Issam Kourbaj and the Museum of Classical Archaeology.
Participants will be guided by Kourbaj to craft works on paper that respond to the body of a life model whilst being inspired by the surroundings of an exceptional cast gallery.

Instructor Biography
Issam Kourbaj comes from a background of fine art, architecture and theatre design. He was born in Syria and trained at the Institute of Fine Arts in Damascus, the Repin Institute of Fine Arts & Architecture in Leningrad (St Petersburg) and at Wimbledon School of Art (London). Since 1990, he has lived and worked in Cambridge, eventually becoming an Artist in Residence at Christ’s College, a Bye-Fellow (2007-2011) and a Lector in Art.
