Mary Beard reaches out to the naked Aphrodite of Knidos statue

In Conversation With is a new weekly series where we ask friends of the Museum to tell us about their favourite object – and what it means to them. We'll be speaking to members of the Faculty, members of the University and a few surprise guests to tell us (and you!) about the casts which make their hearts beat a little faster.

A new In Conversation With will be added on Monday every week until December 2019.

The conversations so far

Every cast tells two stories.
One ancient. One modern.

Admission is free.

New Covid Measures from 10 December:

In line with Government guidance, the University of Cambridge requires visitors to wear face coverings (unless exempt) whilst enjoying our indoor spaces. Face coverings help protect the wearer and others against the spread of infection because they cover the nose and mouth, which are the main confirmed sources of COVID-19 transmission. We hope that our visitors support this in an effort to keep each other and our staff safe.

Opening hours

Tues-Fri: 10am-5pm
Sat (univ. term-time only): 2-5pm
Sun and Monday: Closed

Closed on Bank Holidays

Saturday Opening

We are currently closed on Saturdays. Saturday opening will begin again on Saturday 22 January 2022.

Please note: We are only open on Saturdays during University of Cambridge term time.
