We are currently reviewing our Work Experience Placement programme and expect to make some changes to the details below. For 2026, the programme will be open only to students aged 18+ who are in full- or part-time education at the time of the placement.

Please note: We regret that we are unable to provide placements during designated school work experience weeks, which fall within term-time.
This role does not include any out-of-pocket expenses and we are unable to provide accommodation.

What this role will entail:
This is a one-week work experience supporting the work of the Museum of Classical Archaeology.
Why the Museum of Classical Archaeology need this role:
This placement is open to those of all backgrounds and experiences, especially those interested in working in the museum sector. The Volunteer will be asked to assist with administrative tasks to support the work of Museum. They will also be asked to perform front of house duties and to support learning activities.
Potential time commitment:
The agreed time period for a work experience placement is one week. A normal day will be 10am-4pm. Placements will take place during the school summer holidays, from Monday 10 August - Friday 14 August 2026. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate placements in designated school work experience weeks, which fall within term-time.

Please download the extended Work Experience Role Description and then complete and submit a Work Experience Expression of Interest Form by 5pm, Tuesday 7 April 2026 (extended).
You will need to include the names and contact details of two referrees. We recommend you ask them before you submit your form.

What happens next
Unfortunately, work experience placements are limited. If you have been successful, we will be in touch to offer you a placement and to ask you to confirm your acceptance. If you have been unsuccessful, we will aim to email you to let you know by the end of April 2026. Please note that we will not be reviewing applications until after the closing date.
