Friday 21 June 2024, 2-6.30pm

On 21 June 2024 the Faculty of Classics at the University of Cambridge will host a seminar (in Room G.21) on ‘Teaching and Learning Greek and Latin at UK universities’, with contributions from:

  • Stephen Anderson (New College, Oxford),
  • Emma Greensmith (St. John’s College, Oxford and Faculty of Classics, University of Oxford),
  • Cynthia Liu (Faculty of Classics, University of Oxford),
  • Katharine Radice (Gonville & Caius College and Corpus Christi College, Cambridge),
  • John Taylor (Department of Classics, Ancient History, Archaeology and Egyptology, University of Manchester),
  • Justine Wolfenden (Department of Classics and Ancient History, University of Durham).

The purpose of the seminar is that of bringing together a variety of people who are currently  teaching Greek and Latin in UK universities in a variety of roles and institutions, to exchange experiences and reflections. Each 20-minute paper will be followed by a 10-minute discussion and there will be a general discussion at the end.

All are welcome but it would be helpful if those who are planning to attend would let Franco Basso (fggb2@cam.ac.uk) know in advance.

Date:
Friday, 21 June, 2024 - 14:00 to 18:30
