Biography

Caroline van Eck is Professor of Art History in the Department of Art History and Fellow of King’s College. She has a particular interest in the legacy and reception of classical art, as well as classical rhetoric and ideas. Other major research fields include art and architectural history and theory of the eighteenth century and early nineteenth century; the anthropology of art; and Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Gottfried Semper and Aby Warburg.
