Codebreaking challenges around the Cast Gallery

Crack the code and break the cipher of ancient languages, from Greek to Latin and beyond! Our objects are covered in hidden messages, concealed in their inscriptions and their unfamiliar alphabets. Grab a glass of wine and try your hand at our challenges. Find the answers buried in Linear B, track your way around the Cast Galley with our trail, or even try your hand at the language of the future by having a go at coding with our Digital Maker.

This event is run in collaboration with researchers from the CREWS Project (Contexts of and Relations between Early Writing Systems).

Free. For adults. Drop in; no need to book.
