Faculty of Classics

 

The Faculty of Classics would like to congratulate our Early Career Researchers who have secured new positions elsewhere in the UK and abroad. We thank Il-Kweon, Michael, Tom, Ludo, and Lea for all their contributions to our Classics community and wish them the very best for the next steps in their careers.

Dr Il-Kweon Sir has been appointed to a lectureship in the Department of Classical Studies at Western University in Ontario.

Dr Michael Loy has been appointed to a lectureship in the Department of Classics and Ancient History at the University of Durham.

Dr Thomas Matthews Boehmer has been appointed to a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship in the School of Archaeology and Ancient History at the University of Leicester. He will be working on ‘Big Data and the Roman Dead: Archaeological Explorations around Age and Agency’.

Dr Ludovico Pontiggia has been appointed to a Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship in the School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh. His project will focus on epic poetry in the Late Antique period.

Dr Lea Cantor has been appointed to a lectureship in the History of Philosophy at the University of Sheffield which she will take up in September 2025.
