The Museum of Classical Archaeology is home to more than 450 plaster casts of ancient Greek and Roman sculpture. But why do we have a collection of copies or ‘fakes’?

Join Curator Dr Susanne Turner on this tour of the Museum of Classical Archaeology’s Cast Gallery. The Museum houses a rather unusual collection: instead of original statues, the Cast Gallery is packed with more than 600 historical plaster casts of Greek and Roman sculptures - and find out how thinking about replication might impact how we look at the ancient world.

• Step-free access to the Museum is available via our lift. To use the lift, please ask at the reception on the ground floor of the Classics Faculty.
• This event involves standing, but we can move chairs around the gallery. Please let us know either when you book tickets or on arrival if you would like us to do so.
