Professor Phillip Mitsis (NYU) will be the first Dan Kaylor Visiting Fellow in Hellenistic Philosophy at the Faculty of Classics. Among his many works, Professor Mitsis has published widely in the philosophy of the Hellenistic period, particularly on Epicurean ethics. He is currently working on the emotion of hatred and its role in education and while in Cambridge he will present a paper to the B Club entitled: 'Hatred and its uses: Plato, Stoics, and pedagogy in hate'. He will also be participating in various workshops and seminars and meeting the postgraduate students.
Professor Mitsis will be in Cambridge 11-25 October.
