COUNTESS MARTINENGO CESARESCO, CORBETT, AND OTHER TRAVEL AWARDS

These awards are primarily intended for students reading for the Classical Tripos. Only in exceptional circumstances will applications be considered from others. Exceptional circumstances might be that a student has notified the College authority of his/her intention to change to the Classical Tripos in the next academic year, or that he/she is taking a majority of his/her papers from the Classical Tripos while reading for another Tripos, for example, under the Regulations for Archaeology and Anthropology.

Priority in making the awards is normally given to those who:

  1. have not visited the Classical lands before,
  2. carry a strong recommendation from their Director of Studies,
  3. have been accepted to take part in a course of study (for instance at the British Schools in Rome and Athens or to take part in an excavation or have worked out a thoughtful and productive itinerary, and
  4. have performed satisfactorily in their examinations.

Preference will be given to those who have not already received money from the Fund. In recent years the largest grants have usually been made in support of those attending the Summer Schools at Athens and Rome.

HENRY ARTHUR THOMAS TRAVEL EXHIBITIONS

The Exhibitions are awarded to Classicists in June on the basis of examination results. No application is required. Those awarded an Exhibition will receive a letter from the Faculty giving details of how to claim the emolument.
