Research

I am primarily interested in the architecture, construction, and technology of the Roman period, with a focus on Roman baths during the imperial period. I also have a keen interest in various aspects of digital archaeology, and have been involved in several excavation projects across the Mediterranean, mostly in Italy (Alba Fucens, Aquinum). My current research project, started in the framework of the Ax:son Johnson Centre for the Study of Classical Architecture, investigates the design processes of bath buildings across the empire, and the use of orders therein.
